Steam cleaning on waterproof fabrics

1. Run the vacuum cleaner attachment over the area to pick up any loose debris. It is best to use a soft brush attachment. You can also use a handheld vacuum on the fabric. It is important to remove dust and debris before steaming the fabric to prevent particles from settling into the fabric. Sometimes vacuuming can even alleviate stains a little!
If you are working in a small area, it may be necessary to open a window so that the temperature does not get too high. This will also help dry the fabric.
2. Pour water into the steam cleaner and install the appropriate attachments. How and where you pour the water depends on the type of steam cleaner used. Once you find the water tank, simply fill it with fresh water. Attachments also vary, but the best choice is usually a firm or round soft brush attachment.
Microfiber cloth attachments are also suitable for this task.
Fabric shampoo or upholstery shampoo can be added to the water if the steamer can handle it, but plain water should suffice for most stains. You can purchase a manual steamer or rent a larger model from a hardware store.
3: Open the steamer, then gently move it to the stained area. If you are treating a very large stain, do so in small pieces for best results. Slowly move the steamer to the stain without a small section of steam working on a small area.
The steamer should remove the stain after several passes.
If soap or upholstery shampoo has been added, you will need to repeat this process with water before rinsing it out and then allowing the fabric to dry.
4.Allow the sofa to air dry completely. Opening a window can speed up the process. If you need to dry your sofa faster, turn on a fan on the sofa or turn on a ceiling fan in the room. A hair dryer can also work when you're having trouble. However, ideally, it should be allowed to phoenix dry.
Tip.
Treat stains as soon as possible to prevent them from getting stuck.
Always test any cleaner randomly on an inconspicuous part of the sofa to ensure that it does not cause discoloration or other damage to the material.
